We're with a different DC area team and I happened to see the team DC Express 2021 played yesterday head on the field, complete with booming music and fist pumps. That team looked like they were going home to wives and children - it was ridiculous and I'm guessing most were red-shirts. CA has a Dec 31 cut-off which may explain some of it.
I didn't see the game but did see the final score and was impressed that DC Express did as well as they did given the size/physical maturity of the kids who didn't look at all like 2021's. In fact they looked more mature than the kids on our 2020 team. |
What does this mean? |
| DC Express kids are all reclassed. They dominated teams previously because of size and athletic advantage. Teams have caught up to them. |
Is this supposed to answer the above or beat on the same dce reclass thing. Is the ca date cutoff after the 9/1 (younger) or before (older). Based on pp saying the CA 2021's were huge, I'm assuming older. More likely is they brought a bunch of guess players. |

That was Mad Dogs National team, so included the best kids from all over California, Arizona, Texas and New Jersey, so could have been a few prep kids as to why they looked so “mature”. But no matter their age, a couple of those kids could flat out ball.
DCE had just been through a dog fight with Team 91 and didn’t have much left in the tank. Got down 0-5 and clawed back, but too little, to late. |
DCE played and beat Team 91 (who won NLF Opening Weekend last week) in a bruising game right b4 Mad Dog game in front of all major D1 coaches...Mad Dog w/ a much easier draw jumped out in 1H and then DCE outplayed in 2H. |
|
LOL at the excuse making by the dads of DCE 21. It doesn't matter - DCE would have gotten spanked by 3d NE if they had somehow beaten Mad Dog.
DCE also had a cupcake schedule on Sat. One thing is clear. They used to be in the conversation for the best team in the country. No longer. |
Yet Ty Xanders (Inside Lacrosse, Director of Recruiting) shared on twitter yesterday an "awesome 2021 qtr final at Champions League, 6-5 win for @DCExpressLax over @team91lacrosse. Chippy and intense game that decided in final minute.. Loaded rising soph class in DC and LI's Suffolk County." |
| Dc express and Bullis haters. Keep on hatin. No biggie. Colleges love our boyz. That’s all that matters, that’s why ya’all are playing this (college admission) game, n’est-ce pas?! |
It’s unfortunate that the coaches refuse to play the best players to try and win. There stated goal this summer ya to get all the kids “exposure” and winning is now “secondary”. Team doesn’t stand a chance against top teams that are rolling top players. Last year it was all about winning. Not anymore, and with that go’s the conversation as best team in the country. Not even close based on how they are running it. Complete incompetence. |
| Troll - Educate yourself and see what it means to qualify for the age restricted WSYL. And as mentioned before, they all played in the tourney and have been playing together for years, plus the addition of a couple of new kids to get better. The blue print of how most great teams are built. Sorry your kid didn’t/couldn’t make it. He really would have enjoyed it, as each and every kid on the team loves playing for DCE21’. Probably feels good to be envied. The opposite might make you act like you live under a bridge. |
There's a lot you're missing. Club teams are measured by the competition they play and the # of players that go on to play in college. Notice how the coaches weren't crowing over the NLF championship they won last summer - there's a lot more work to put in show their players as skilled rather than just big and athletic holdbacks. Winning is showing as many of DCE players as possible playing good lacrosse so they have the exposure and opportunity to be recruited by colleges. Colleges coaches aren't recruiting teams, they are recruiting players, preferably ones without crazy, candyass parents who whine when they don't win every game. Just a few more weeks left in the summer and you can pack your bags and go over to Madlax you clown - if your kid is so good I'm sure they would love to take him, preferably if he can reclass down to '22. Or step up and pay twice as much for DCE to carry half as many players on the roster. |
"Ya'all"? |
| Based on some of the previous posts, it appears there is some hint of financial relationship between parents of players and either coaches or the Megill’s themselves. Can this be confirmed? It can’t be with coaches of actual players from the team they coach, correct?? Conflict?? |

sounds like DCE 2021 is filled with a ton of parental drama.
