If SJP really wanted to "reach out" to a colleague, she could have picked up the phone or sent an email, or even had the message go through Cattrall's publicist, to first guage if the contact would be welcome.
Instead she did it publicly, because she wanted to look like the good guy. |
She's coming off as unhinged. Truly. |
But that's what celebrities do. They all communicate via Twitter. |

I could 100% see the mean girls vibe going on while filming the show.
Kim came in as the highest listed actress. SJP was the main star and always reminded kim of that. I don’t think SJP is as nice as she seems |
Exactly. |
Have any of his affairs with men made it to the news yet? |
| Apparently during filming the show kim was isolated and never spoken to aside from filming the script. Kind of sad |
Was that done at her request? Because it sounds like something a diva might do. Steve Harvey doesn't let anyone look at him or speak to him. |

+1 IF SJP wanted to reach out, she could have done it privately. But she didn't. She did it in a public way to look sweet. I don't blame Kim for calling her out. |
PP but not to this comment. I feel like SJP is on the Jennifer Garner wavelength- maintain positive public persona so no one knows how nasty you really are. |
KC's brother died. SJP could have practiced a more dignified and silent way of reaching out instead of doing so publicly. I don't blame KC for calling her out. SJP was exploiting his death to make it seem like she was the nice guy. From all accounts, it sounds like KC was really treated badly by SJP. As for the baby thing, 40s for an actress with means isn't too old. She could've used donor eggs. But given her role on the show, there was no way she could film while pregnant. More than any of the other characters, it was important for her to stay in shape. And she should've been compensated more than SJP. She was the biggest name. And her character and her acting made the show. That's why they wouldn't do the movie without her. You could've replaced SJP with any other actress, and it would've been fine. But Kim Cattrall's Samantha was a huge reason the show was a hit and was also a huge reason that men watched and that it had a wider audience than just single 30-something women. Without Samantha, the rest of the characters and story lines wouldn't have been interesting to as broad a range of viewers, and it would've been more of a cult favorite than an HBO hit. |
I read that her other costar who played Miranda also responded to her Instagram and Kim thanked her. |
Which means it's personal between Kim and SJP. Diva fight. They both thought they were the star. |
+1 I also think that that's SJP's stock character, and she lacks the range as an actress to go outside that. The shows/movies she does well in are the ones where she's kind of a nice, slightly awkward but still attractive regular person. She can't afford to be a diva b/c then she wouldn't be believable in the only kind of roles she's really good at. Same with Jennifer Garner. She does best as the girl next door, approachable kind of character. If people saw in public a dark side to her, it would be hard for her to be believable in the only roles she can really do. There are male actors for whom the same thing applies (as in they have to manage their public persona b/c they only do one type of role well, and if people see them as nasty, they won't be able to really do that role well anymore). It's also an issue for actors/actresses who are child actors/actresses. At some point, they are too old to play their stock character. So then the test is, are they good enough as actors/actresses to really transition into other types of roles/characters? Some are, but most aren't. |
