What ever happened to step aerobics?

I don’t know…the consensus seems to be old and with terrible knees. Coincidence?

I do step with a kettlebell as part of my daily circuit for glute engagement. 10 pretty high steps each leg, go all the way but never put pressure on leg that I am not leading with. Great exercise.

Do you have any favorite step instructors on YouTube? Especially some that are less dancy and more simple but still raises the heartrate?

There are classes that I see on TikTok. Very hip hop dance inspired. It looks fun, but is very fast-paced.

I did step aerobics until last year, when I moved into a condo and couldn't imagine doing a 60-minute step class with neighbors below...how annoying would that be?

I love it. I had a good step, and did old Kathy Smith DVDs which you can buy on Amazon. There are also Reebok Step videos you can find online. So 90s, but fun to mix things up every once in a while.

Why not try one of those mini trampoline classes that have choreography? Like on LEKFIT. She offered classes to stream before covid, and they're easy to do at home.

Thanks for the reminder! I may start doing step again. I was in the best shape of my life when I did step 3 days a week.

Ha ha, yes!

Step was fun! I would try it again.

I just bought a step from Amazon. Let's see if I use it. I'll check back in.

I did step in the 80s but in the 90s yoga mostly took over for me. Loved both. Only attended non-intricate step classes. Up down up down around. 3 pound weights for the 15 -minute arm segment. I look and feel great, grateful to those early step classes then yoga and in the past 10 years added in masters swimming.

Grapevine was the best. I could have done it the entire hour.

Rebounding is a great option for apartment living.
Bellicon makes high quality rebounders and has a big assortment of videos and a channel you can subscribe to.

I'm ok with that. But step is forever! It never gets old. My knees, on the other hand...

Yeah, unfortunately, my knees could not take step at this point. But, I did love it.
