Men: why are so many of you seemingly turned on by virginity?

What is the source of this graph? It seems very poorly assembled. The y-axis is % of marriages that didn't end in divorce after 10 years? Did they control for things like religion? I believe there is high overlap between people who marry as virgins and people who don't believe in divorce - often very religious people feel this way.

This is clearly a graph that states: Religious people are sexually prudish and don't believe in divorce.

And also: DUH.

Here's some bad news for you non-religious and promiscuous DCUMers:

This new research from the University of Utah provides insight into recent social and behavioral shifts. Although the study found that women who had more than 10 sexual partners prior to marriage did show an increase in divorce rates, people who had only two partners do, too. Both groups had higher rates of divorce, but the lowest rate was found among those with between three and nine premarital partners.

So, try to keep it down to single digits. This means no 15-man trains in the bathroom.

I don't know any guys who want virgins. Maybe a couple of my religious male friends, but they were fine with the whole "pray to Jesus and you're a virgin again!" thing. But even most of my religious friends were out having sex and found the virgin thing antiquated.

I have dated a couple guys who really wanted a woman with only about three partners that were all long term relationships because they were insecure about her remembering prior lovers and making comparisons. Which makes no sense to me, because relationship sex is a heck of a lot more memorable and exploratory than crappy one night stands. If you're worried about being compared, learn to be good in bed rather than trying to find a woman who doesn't have much to measure against.

Like PP said, most of guys who want virgins are the red pill MRA types who can't get a woman anyway, are resentful, and want to find a way to rationalize their situation.

I've found men with fewer partners tend to be better in bed. They don't have as many established bad habits, are easier to train, enjoy getting women off rather than themselves, and are willing to do more. Most slutty men just want to hurry up, stick it in, and get themselves off. Not all, but most.

Hey asshat,

Do you have reading comprehension difficulties? Sounds consensual to me:

Man here. Some of my friends like it, some don't want it at all.

The reason it's a turn-on is the woman is unspoiled and new. The same reason people like new cars instead of used cars I guess. I had a friend (ok we dated for a while) and she told me in her younger wild years, she went into the men's room of a nightclub and had sex with 15 guys in a row. Now, how many guys want to imagine their girlfriend/wife being that person?

Also, a woman can have only one first time, so it's a nice feeling to know you're the one.

On the negative side, it means they have no experience, and also the first time, it may be more pain than pleasure and that's no fun.

And why would you conclude that a promiscuous young woman was sexually abused as a child? Is female accountability an oxymoron for you?

This thread is what is wrong with this site. I doubt anyone on here has had personal experience with someone wanting a virgin. Yet it’s all about misogyny. Someone should start a thread about how unicorns are misogynistic.

No because it's very common.

Interestingly, I recently had a long conversation with a detective with the child sex crimes unit of an urban police department. He felt that boys are victimized as much as girls, but that it is rarely reported. According to him, boys almost never report. The vast majority of reports come from adults who happen to overhear a conversation and are savvy enough to recognize that something criminal has occurred.

Perhaps male sexual promiscuity is caused by an unrecognized epidemic of childhood sexual abuse of boys. Are we all just acting out?

Sober....in a nightclub....not very likely.
Have you ever been to a club?
