I want to date a firefighter or cop

My sons best friend's dad is in LE. I always communicate with the father. Parents are divorced. He has primary custody. This police officer dad has more interaction and involvement in his kids life than ANY other dad I know. I get the impression he works a 40hr week and he packs much of his day into the early morning.

I didn't say they aren't involved parents. And I wasn't even talking about police officers only firefighters. It's like 2 days on 2 days off or whatever. It is tough on the mom and the kid to have the dad be gone a lot.

I'd do a FWB but don't marry a cop. They're schedules suck and a very high divorce rate, including me- divorcing cop husband soon.

Because they are kind.

Good answer to the nasty poster.

DO NOT DO THIS. They cheat with their low class staff.

Considering the law of deminishing returns for IQ I would think most are in the sweet spot for IQ.

I don't see many einsteins coming out of that group but I may be wrong. There's nothing wrong with being average, most people are but based on the snobbery of dcum I would assume that these professions would be considered lower on the totem pole for many of the women that post here.

What a bunch of rubes, getting suckered by a big city NY con artist. Classic.

I need a real man. Most men in DC are wimpy.

Most dental offices are known to lower class workers. Plus they are whores.

Just read a story about a fire chief that's available. From the New Orleans area I think. They found his wife all burned up in their home along with their pets. Today was the funeral.

One tiny detail, she was identified from DNA but fire didn't kill her. A bullet did.

Do not date or marry a cop, firefighter. They ALL cheat. They are ALL mean. They will kill you before they share their pension.

Like ANY profession, there are jerks. Absolutely true. I know plenty of doctors, lawyers, financiers, etc., who are alcoholics or who cheat or hit their wives. Really I socioeconomic class or profession is immune.

I also know a ton of cops who do their job with integrity and are always willing to go the extra mile to help someone (mine included!). I know a ton of cops who have never had a use of force complaint filed against them. I know a ton who are wonderful husbands and fathers. And I work in a profession that intertwines with the police so I am around hundreds of cops and see them in their off hours, their coming and going, and overhear their conversations.

I love my policeman. He's strong and sexy and also caring and funny. You can find these qualities in a lot of professions, though, just like you can find bad men, too.

And yes--it's definitely a life you have to be prepared for. He frequently has to stay late because he got a call as his shift was ending. His shifts have been very odd hours over the years. He can't make holidays sometimes and or vacations are always planned around his schedule. But it's okay, I've never had a problem with it. Some women would be very resentful.

You know that call when his shift was ending? It was from the woman he pulled over warier in the day just because she was sexy and he had to tell her so. She called to tell him she was waiting naked in her bed. Duty calls.

You are correct that there are exceptions but I wouldn't play those odds.

I dated a Marine from NY. I still miss him. Really!!!

There is nothing like him in DC. And I've dated lots of ex-military guys including one retired Special Forces guy and one dull covert CIA blah blah guy.

Find your cop or FD guy and enjoy.

They all get older - you are too. You would not believe what a boring thick waisted nerd a friends 'former navy seal now doctor' husband is now. He does not ooze sex appeal at all. However, he's very sweet and intelligent which is great.

Engineers have low EQ and hockey players are alcoholics.

I must have gotten the only sensitive engineer out there. He definitely like to drink, but he's no alcoholic. Guess I got lucky.

Ding dong!
