And lifetime pensions.

Totally understand why so many women like the idea of police/fire/military. But, isn't it a little easier to have a guy who can afford to hire someone else to do the yard and fix the toilet? Do you have to worry they'll feel out of place at a nice restaurant or travelling to countries that don't speak English? Will they go to the 9:30 or Black Cat?

Because they are kind.

Cops have to have a college degree in most places. What are you talking about?

Some need 2 years, not most.

Undereducated does not mean not smart.

You DO realize that the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) is Comprised of many, many, cops who are highly educated and have very specialized training, right? And you DO realize that like every profession, there is an entry level, mid-management and executive level that requires more education and specialized training right? Nah, you probably don't because you live in your 2x4 little bubble where you're the smartest one in the room.

-20+ year wife of a retired cop, now FBI management
-a pension + a paycheck + a hot manly man=Happy wife=Happy life

Lol, this is hysterical.

My husband is FBI and you're not fooling anyone with that happy wife - happy life BS. We're like a big family, how many other wives are bragging about their easy going lives in the agency? I'll tell you how many...ZERO.

Your husband, like every other FBI agent in the agency is underpaid, under valued & his stress level is through the ROOF... especially if he's "management" & has a team under him like you say he does.

Those guys are ALL walking stress balls & every wife knows what it's like to walk on egg shells so they don't go off on you or the kids for no apparent reason.

Your husband is NOT the exception to the rule, especially if he's responsible for other agents. Those guys are even more stressed. You're trying just a little too hard to convince everyone how great it is, but you can't convince someone who's lived the life.... you can't fool another FBI wife.

So please stop with your delusional "happy wife-happy life" BS. If your husband doesn't come home wound as tight as a clock every day, he deserves to be fired.

Bless your heart. So you're the type of dumb bunny who thinks every educator works in a classroom, every attorney goes to court every day, and every cop walks a beat. You couldn't possibly wrap your brain around someone having highly technical professional skills and working for the FBI in the capacity of training and development at the Academy or in a forensics lab in Quantico. In your mind, the ENTIRE organization is comprised of Rambo-style agents who kick in doors and come home raging with adrenaline. I don't have to convince ANYONE, much less the likes of you, that my husband is a degreed professional with a technical, scientific background who has a very happy, well balanced life, both personally and professionally. He earns both a six figure pension from his previous department and a comfortable GS-15 salary at the Bureau. He's home every evening by 6:00 pm, coaches our kids' sports teams, and he has NEVER made this sista' walk on eggshells. If your husband acts this way, I suggest you and yours seek family counseling and possibly a good family attorney. Life is too short not to be a happy wife with a happy life, lol!

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

Boo Boo, I'm not the person you've quoted, but just a word of advice to you - if you have to repeatedly write novels to persuade & catechize others into believing you, it comes off as... well... not believable.

Dear Honey "Boo Boo" - first, you should brush up on the correct quotation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Then, you should learn to spell/use the word "characterize." When you do those two things, YOU will come across as credible, or as you put it..."believable."

ROTFL

Wow. And this very mentality is why there are so many lonely, dried-up women in the DCUM listening area. And why there are so many perfectly eligible, well-established "millionaires next door" who wouldn't give them the time of day if they were the last vagina on earth.

My husband is blue collar. He has 2 pensions with a ton of money. We are still young, and are retiring in 1 year. We have traveled all over, and are going on another cruise in a few months. Many of our professional friends have lived above their means apparently. Some lost their homes 8 years ago when the bubble burst. His state pension and his trust pension still made good money, and they are doing even better with Trump. You must be very young and frankly a dim bulb. Oh and he speaks 2 languages fyi...lmao

My policeman husband can fix our toilet and do our yard all on his own because he's not a pretty-hands-nancy-boy. And maybe fancy restaurants aren't our thing, and we are happy that way!

Yawn at the posts in this thread. Funny how most cops in everyday life are rather unintelligent with soft bodies and unimpressive salaries, but then every cop described by the blue-collar-and-loving-it crew in this thread has an 8-pack with 4 huge pensions and reads Tolstoy while fixing the HVAC system. You guys are doing the most with these stories. Same for those posting about firefighters. Firefighters have better bodies, but most are boneheads.

I respect what cops and firefighters do, but men who cannot write without basic typos, feel threatened by educated women, do not understand how our government works, and drink constantly are just not going to fit in with a white collar demographic.

For instance, I had some idiot cop tell me he voted for Trump because Trump will pass a bill to lower federal taxes in the upstate NY shithole this cop lives in. I was so baffled. This guy really did not understand that Trump cannot unilaterally pass a bill or that matters entrusted to the federal government differ from those entrusted to state governments, which differ from those entrusted to local governments. So many cops and firefighters just are not much smarter than the average, straight C eighth grader.

So you know one douchebag cop in NY and you think you know it all? Over half of the people I work with have degrees, but unlike you, we don't pretend that we are smarter than those without degrees. Trust me, you being educated isn't the reason why guys don't want to date you.
