I’m a [your political party]. My favorite politician on the other side of the aisle is…

Democrat. I've liked Lindsey Graham for a while, especially after Biden's son died. He spoke so lovingly of Joe. "God couldn't make a better man." He also has the best zingers.

Jeff Flake. Seems like a principled guy.

Ben Sasse.

Except that in a totally cynical move, he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate.

That choice was based off of the recommendation from his campaign team.

-I am amused by Lindsey Graham - his interview on the Daily Show where he played pool with Trevor last year was epic
-I like some of what Kasich has to say (although he's super conservative socially-he just is able to come off as less of a jackass because he seems to be capable of compromise)
-I have been enjoying Evan McMullin's interviews and tweets. He does NOT screw around with his flat out disdain for the POS in chief

I think I actually DO like Ana Navarro lately. I could totally sit down with her. Have a few drinks. Her twitter account is something to behold.

Argh, I can't get this video to post. Someone help me out. It's worth it!

I can't get behind the notion McCain is principled. He will claim to be troubled and disturbed by a person or thing, and then still toe the party line. I didn't see him voting against any of the terrible cabinet appointments. He talks principled behaves like a standard GOPer every damn time.

I'm a republican. I like Elizabeth Warren when she speaks about her area of expertise, consumer bankruptcy and consumer finance. I heard her deliver a TED seminar and was very impressed.

Republican-leaning Independent. I like Jim Webb and would love to see him run in 2020.

I like Flake and McCain. I first noticed Flake when he was in the house, ranting and raving about earmarks, with zero hope of actually carrying the vote, but he did it nonetheless. There was something very Mr. Smith Goes to Washington about him. I think he is that way still.

I think Ron Paul is ok some of the time. Rand Paul less so, but I admire him on criminal justice issues. I like Ana Navarro too.

I liked Huckabee when he was governor of AR. He was obviously conservative but he spent state money wisely, especially on programs benefiting children. At the time he was recognized as one of the country's best governors. He even got flack from the extreme right wing of the state party for expanding children's health insurance programs. Now he's a total loon.

The Pauls are an oddity.

They sound perfectly sane for a while-they they veer off into crazy cakes.

I have similar feelings on Ralph Nader.

In what feels like another lifetime, I voted for Mike Castle. And this was basically on the advice of the Biden campaign staff - yes, uncle Joe. They all liked him. He was a moderate R, a dying breed these days if they even exist at all.
