But it absolutely was a pioneer: go to a Redfin, Zillow, etc. and you can find no shortage of Potomac's architectural disasters/monstrosities from the 1980s. The rest of the country hadn't seen that kind of building, Potomac had it before almost any other place. A lot of it came from folks cashing out their bucolic properties and subdividing them for development.
