2017 DCUM Obsessed Neighborhood

"Upper" McLean seems to be popular these days on these forums. I thought people up there were too rich to slum it on these forums.

"Upper McLean" got started on DCUM after buyers started paying more attention to "Lower McLean," Falls Church and Arlington. It's an attempt to be relevant again.

(North) Michigan Park -- I've seen it mentioned a number of times already.

booo!

ever seen it?

We lived there and loved it. What's with all the laughing face emoticons? What's the joke?

There's a 'King Farm troll' here at DCUM.

And the names of those streets! Oy! "Reserve Champion"? Lol!

Hehe some of the street names are funny. We were just renting for a couple years but loved it. Walked to metro and Safeway and ballet and karate classes, good restaurants, pool, community events for all the holidays. Tons of great playgrounds and lots of open green space. Best sense of community we have had anywhere in DC. Kids were outside playing with the neighbors under dinner time every night. It was idyllic!

No doubt 'bout all that. BUT, how was the commute?

Shady Grove station is across the street and if you don't want to walk, there are shuttle buses that take you to the station.

So where is there just enough inventory to entice 2-earner couples into bidding wars? Upper Cleveland Park?

Specifically the walkable areas. Most of 22207 is a driver's zone

Why are people adding upper to things? To make themselves feel upper class?

Silver spring. Every time there's a "where should my family life" post, that comes up as the answer.

"Upper Cleveland Park" is an attempt to avoid referring to Van Ness, which conjures up UDC, the massive Israeli compound, and the worst retail strip on Conn. Ave.

22205 is where it's at

Yah but it is the same 3 people trying to convince people that it is almost as nice as WOTP. Most people don't buy it

I'm not one of those people and don't live in Shepherd Park, but I actually think it's nicer than most WOTP neighborhoods.

Very true, at least if you want to make a lot of money in a few years. Have you seen Historic Anacostia lately. Wow.

Takoma DC
Brookland

For those who need to access Deal, still AU Park because it's the least expensive sure thing. Shepherd Park is likely to lose access in the next 5 years, and has no Metro access.

Who 'needs' access to Deal?
