But remember, Trump knows more about fighting ISIS than the generals and he knows a lot about hacking so it stands to reason that he would know more than Jezebel about the market for dresses in Washington, DC!

Of course - but I would never announce that I knew more than the generals when I hadn't even read a book on the subject. And I would bet my house that Donald Trump has never read a book on fighting insurgencies like ISIS. And until recently he's probably never talked to an expert in it either. But he's read a lot of tweets -- I'll give him that.

And FWIW, as I recall, the intelligence community wasn't completely on board with the assertion that there were WMD in Saddam's Iraq. As I recall, Dick Cheney pushed them into giving that analysis because it's what he wanted to hear (speaking of thinking you know more than the experts do). But of course I could be wrong about that. Anyone with a better memory want to comment?

I first read Trump's claim re: "dresses being sold out" in NYT. Here's a WaPo story on the subject. I am not attending the inauguration due to security concerns, not just from terrorists but also crazed liberals, as they've ably demonstrated that they are willing and able to not only be violent themselves, but pay to incite violence.

I think the streets will be mostly empty. Haven't heard a thing about any balls. I'm sure a lot of wealthy people from the U.S. and abroad will buy tickets to events to curry favor, but doubt any of them will want to stand outside in the cold.
