All it needs to do is swear in Trump and Pence, and Obama exit stage left. Anything else, who cares? In years past it was barely critiqued. Everyone is wailing and gnashing because Trump won. It's hilarious.
He cares. He keeps tweeting about how epic it will be.
Yes, didn't you hear? He told the New York Times that every dress shop in DC is sold out!!!! Guess I'm going to have to wear the dress I bought for the Obama inauguration.
Jezebel called to find out lol. SPOILER: there are lots of dresses http://theslot.jezebel.com/contrary-to-trumps-claim-the-dress-shops-in-d-c-are-d-1790977646
But remember, Trump knows more about fighting ISIS than the generals and he knows a lot about hacking so it stands to reason that he would know more than Jezebel about the market for dresses in Washington, DC! ;-)
I don't know what anybody knows. But generals are not gods. It's not like they haven't been wrong before. It's not like they haven't taken us to a decade of war over something that wasn't really there
Of course - but I would never announce that I knew more than the generals when I hadn't even read a book on the subject. And I would bet my house that Donald Trump has never read a book on fighting insurgencies like ISIS. And until recently he's probably never talked to an expert in it either. But he's read a lot of tweets -- I'll give him that. And FWIW, as I recall, the intelligence community wasn't completely on board with the assertion that there were WMD in Saddam's Iraq. As I recall, Dick Cheney pushed them into giving that analysis because it's what he wanted to hear (speaking of thinking you know more than the experts do). But of course I could be wrong about that. Anyone with a better memory want to comment?
