Unrealistic TV Couples

On younger, I could see Sutton foster with Charles. There's no way the hot 26 year old tattoo artist would be into her or not know immediately that she's over 35.

Kevin James and Leah remini

Jon favreau and anybody, but definitely not Jamie king, Sofia vergara or scarlet Johansson.

Pretty much every movie these days. The one that got to me was the tom hanks Bridge of Spies one. His wife was at least 20 years younger than him and it was distracting.

Also any movie with Kevin Costner, or Woody Allen until about 5 years ago.

Also, there is something to be said for proximity. They saw each other day in and day out and had a similar sense of humor.

This was why I couldn't watch the American one. The Jim/Pam relationship was so central to the whole story, especially in the British one (where they had different names but I'm blanking on which). But the British one the woman was plus-sized but gorgeous and the Jim guy was short but so funny and it really seemed like they had this genuine attraction and chemistry.

I felt like on the American one, Jim was the star of the show and Pam was like the tolerantly amused foil who would just sit back and laugh at how brilliant he was. They made her into a loser and not that John krasinski is some gorgeous catch but the power dynamics were very strange and totally ruined my ability to watch it. it seemed very focused on him and she was like desperately lucky to be with him. On the british office she is really smart and witty and Jim is too and it had a very "they love each other but can't be together" vibe that seemed 100% real. It was actually pretty sexy to watch, too.

The couple on "Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce."

Why that seriously drop dead gorgeous woman would be with the potbellied ugly loser I have no clue. And she keeps going back? Like... why? What? It makes no sense whatsoever to me.

Joey and Pacey. Stop it. Stop it right now.

You are missing two factors for them: Scranton. Small pool, not big dreamers. Also, the whole point is they had a friendship and an unbreakable connection.

I also can see big and Carrie. I think he saw something fun and irresistible about her. I think you're mixing it up. Sure he could sleep with younger women, but she would be the one to build a lasting partnership with.

Grey's I see your point.

Mine are:
Claire and Phil from modern family
Many of the relationships on Friends

Also totally disagree with Jim and Pam, starting with the fact that he's better looking than she is. I think he is adorable, but she is objectively better looking than he is, IMO. He is really quite average in looks. But average men can be adorable because women are much less looks-focused than men are.

Except, they were perfect for each other. Both totally neurotic.

But perfect for each other! I think people underestimate how much some women love being pursued. They seemed very realistic to me. (But then, Harry is just the kind of guy I love.)

At least read page one of the thread. C'mon.

When Ray Romano and Lauren Graham got together on Parenthood, I didn't really buy that.

Yes to chemistry. And Ray Romano and Lauren Graham couldn't work because Lauren Graham is such a terrible actress she can't convincingly portray chemistry.
