Couple requested guests wear the same color for wedding

Hmmm . . . A Billy Idol wedding theme.

How about this white sweater and lace skirt from Talbots?

Chilling out and going with the flow? Would mean just inviting your guests and letting them decide how to dress themselves.

Asking that every *guest* (let's not forget that they are GUESTS) wear the same color is the opposite of chilling out and going with the flow.

I agree and the OP sounds pretty angry. Look we are are *rainbow* together and we will dress how the brides tell us. And then we will CHILL until our next orders arrive.

The first quoted comment above isn't mine.

I bought my daughter a White House black market fit and flare dress a couple of weeks ago. It's white, but has 5 lines of black, thin ribbon running down the front. It came with a black belt, but I could swap it for a white one. Is that too much color?

OP here, I just wanted to add the Talbots outfit is lovely. It would solve my fit issues too.

Anonymous wrote:I appreciate your sympathy, but it's misplaced. Neither of the brides are wearing a gown. It's not the center of attention or bride's perfect day type wedding. It's honoring and celebrating their very long relationship, and their newly-attained right to marry.

Again, I think the monochrome thing is a neat idea. It's not an imposition. I just didn't know how white the attire is supposed to be. I see bright colors plus white aren't what's expected.

Does anyone know if white background with very mild colors is ok? I'm trying to figure out which dresses are a possibility. My bust size is about 6 dress sizes larger than the rest of me. Finding a dress is a challenge.

Ask the brides. I"m sure they'll tell you what they had in mind.

Aren't there going to be any elderly relatives there? You know, grandma in a wheelchair? It seems mean to impose something like that on say an eighty year old lady. I would just be glad my relatives were all there no matter what they were wearing.

I never understand how people can wear all white. I always end up brushing against something dirty, and end up with a stain somewhere.

I'm pretty sure they don't have any elderly relatives. Most of the people in our circle have grown children and aging parents or no parents. Their parents are gone.

I like wrap dresses but that looks like a hospital gown. There's something weird about the way the top part is cut.

I think that would be fine.
