| I have heard anecdotally that high percentage of kids getting level 2 services in second grade get in to AAP level-4. I know this info is provided by school to central committee. Any experiences to confirm this? It's true with my child. |
| Will FCPS send a letter either way? Just curious as we have not heard yet. 22003. |
Wow y'all are mean. You know nothing about this child or parents, yet are accusing someone of ALTERING work samples? And what difference does it make to you who is admitted? |
Clearly the committee disagrees with you. Good thing you're not on it!

Yes. |
How do you alter art work? Writings? How do you alter work samples? |
How many people submit the originals - don't they submit copies? Not to mention, who knows how much help the child got with the work samples - again, unless done in class... |
| DS submitted 2 originals. We kept the copies. The copies weren't as beautiful. Not sure why you can't "alter" school work samples. Kids could copy other kids. I think it's an off argument. Regardless, the child got in so . . . *shrug* |
Welcome to the totally subjective world of AAP. |
| It's impossible to have an answer if you do not see the whole package. Works samples matter too! They are looking at DRA and also whether kids is already getting level I I. |
I'm not any of the prior posters, but I have to guess you are also very relieved your child got in because no one could say that this was anything but a very borderline file the committee reviewed. |
This is my child. Received level 2 services in 1st and 2 and grade. Just accepted into level 4. No clue about %. |
Maybe it's the school they are coming from - borderline at a bad school gets you in? The sour grapes - and I love grape drank - is not because your borderline kid got in and mine didn't. It is because your borderline kid is in the same class as my advanced kid and will drag the class speed down. It only seems like high SES parents think their kids are brilliant but just poor test takers. |
Oh please, sour grapes has nothing to do with the borderline kid dragging the kid down. It's all about I hate anything that I can't take advantage of - let's keep it real, we are anonymous here. |
| So this well intentioned thread will now lose any value. If I was a parent who's kid got in and wasn't in-pool, I wouldn't post here. The comments are just mean and nasty for no reason. Jealousy is ugly, especially when directed at children. Worry about your own kid. |
