No sour grapes here and not trying to blunt someone else's celebration, but how was this child accepted?

- Borderline Cogat (not even in the pool, right?)
- Low NNAT
- Borderline GBRS (<12)

Maybe he/she had a strong packet. Excellent work samples, strong recommendations and certificates, strong parent referral. You have no idea. NNAT, CogAT and GBRS are only a part of the packet. [/quote]

Recommendations are subjective (as is the GBRS - though in this case the GBRS was not high)
Certificates at this age are pretty bogus
Work samples could be altered - unless submitted by the teacher
