Was venting, and SIL called me on it

Travel for a job is a total deal breaker for me. I guess we are opposite.

Well, she'd be right. It's not really a secret that my job is only tolerable but I stick with it because of the business travel (to cool) places, and therefore miles and hotel points I earn and use on vacations. But still. I don't complain about any of that, by the way.

Our relationship has been pretty non-existent, that's why I was so surprised by it!

You leave your kid for travel? How long? Maybe that bothers her. I can see why.

Not really any of your business, wouldn't you agree?

Hmmm, lots of people commiserated, so I guess you're 100% wrong.

Do you have a friend who you can ask to post a nice comment? Mine wouldn't even have to be asked to say something like " I think you're so fabulous to get both laundry AND a full time job accomplished"

I mean... Is it worth not being stressed about laundry to never vacation?? I don't think so

You complained about her brother's behavior. She got defensive. Neither of you showed much class.

Not only does she seem to believe that laundry is inherently your job, but she thinks that your job couldn't possibly provide anything superior to staying home to do laundry. That said, it sounds like you verbally undercut yourself & your career when you characterize it the way you do. It provides a lot more to you than hotel points, I'm sure! It's a privilege to have a job that pays you and allows some semblance of balance between career and family.

Oh, it does! But the travel is why I still with this particular job and don't find something better. Working keeps me sane - I am not SAHM material.

Why does his family know that your job doesn't pay well? TMI for the. Don't over share.

Just unfriend her and move on. If you don't, you'll find yourself thinking of her reaction every time you post.

This!!!!

Never respond to stuff like that. It just makes you look pettier than the person who posted. Do as others have said and just delete her posts. Try not spending so much time on FB.
