Am I selfish to ask my ex wife to relocate so I can be close to my child?

OP here, my dad did the same thing and my siblings and I were all affected by this even to this day. That's why I don't want to make the same mistake with my daughter.


then move to FL when you retire, that is what most folks do here

It's okay to ask and it's okay for her to say no.

Now you have to decide what you will do. I would try to find something you're happy with near your daughter.

It's selfish to leave your daughter because you prefer another state. We as parents don't get to do everything we want to do.
