Just noticed, Luther Jackson's back to school night is Yom Kippur

Fine. Christmas falls on a Friday this year. Perhaps kids should still have school on that day?

Fine! We would just skip that day then. NBD. Which is what OP should do. Skip B2SN, or go late, and CTFD.

Christian here. They should not have BTSN on Yom Kippur.

However, I have several calendars that have been sent to the house. It used to be that the Jewish holidays were on these calendars--along with the Christian holidays. I had to google to find the dates. When I did, it had Yom Kippur on the day before as well as the night in question.

What I don't get, is that FCPS should have anticipated this. Surely, there is someone who is responsible for this type of thing and should have sent out to the schools inappropriate dates for BTSN.

There is no reason BTS night has to on this specific date, there is no excuse.

OP here. This is my gripe.

OP here. Just got a notice. It was an error. BTSN will now be on 9/30.

Thank God. Does this mean the OP will finally give it a rest?

Santa doesn't know Jesus

Why does everyone keep bringing up Christmas? It's in the middle of the winter holiday, plus it's a rather secular holiday in America. Santa, Christmas trees and Christmas lights have nothing to do with Jesus.

I have to work Good Friday every year. Religiously Easter is a much bigger deal than Christmas.

The jewish day starts at sun down, so our holidays always begin the night before. Calendar makers handle this different ways, but that is the why of it. You Kippur is longer than 24 hours, so it really is both evenings.

Or did they change it? Guess we'll never know...
