Men are less masculine in DC I have noticed.

I went to grad school in DC and the men, on the whole, are pansies.

Then I moved out West and discovered there are still real men in America.

My conclusion: Move out of DC!

I think abusive women emascule their men because they're looking to tear down another person to feel important. Most women are not abusive. Some women want to find tyranny in everything, and shame men for not acting like women. But, most women aren't insultung their men and writing Jezebel articles.

It's no shocker that Glen Beck came up with some crazy shit and said it was being perpetrated by a single, easy-to-blame group. He's a fucking idiot.

Feminism is about equality. I am a feminist and follow most of the suggestions in the good wife article/picture. Why? Because my guy prefers that kind of support, and I'm happy to support him in a way he feels loved. He offers me the same courtesy and respect.

Probably not true in most cases, but especially not true in the South. Black men built the South. White men stole that value from them. And their descendants are proud of this "heritage."

There isn't a threat to masculinity - the threat is an economic one, where when women reach parity or surpass men economically, they don't treat men the same way men treat women.

What i mean by this is look at the 'underemployed bf - wwyd' thread.

That and other threads on 'providers' and data showing most women dislike outperforming their partners socio-economically is what is driving this disconnect.

There are way less threads about 'underemployed gf - wwyd' and others similar.

As women gain more and more in the labor market and thereby capture greater pieces of the economic pie with respect to men compared to their mothers and grandmothers, society has to change the dynamic of what is 'expected' from both genders.

Why men feel like their masculinity has taken a hit is because as they lose out relatively to women compared to their fathers/grandfathers, there hasn't been a similar shift in attitudes regarding breadwinners/providers.

We own our own business, and hiring qualified men- women will not do this job, it's plumbing- is becoming harder and harder.

Young men just do not want to work over 8 hours a day, period. Not even for OT and bonuses. It's crazy.

They quit and find a less enriching job, for less hours.

I absolutely blame liberals, women who think they can physically match men and attack men at all times, for all their (mens) supposed failings.

I agree with this. Society will have to become more accepting of SAHDs. Women may have to accept they may not be able to be a SAHM. All of the educated women I know make just as much as their husbands and in some cases they make more.
