+1 Same here and DS was a Sept 7th baby! They refused to make an exception for seven days!

DD turned 5 at the end of August and started school that September. So 5 and a few days.

Spring baby, so no where near the cutoff, and never considered redshirting at all, despite the fact that he's tiny (5% for both height and weight). He's right where he should be academically. K year was great - fingers crossed for first!

He is clearly smarter than all the other kids but he's small and I didn't want his first school experience to be a bad one. I hope nobody has a problem with a 23 year old 1st grader.

+1 Same with toilet training. We waited until he was 16 and showed all the "signs of readiness".

16 is such a terrible age for it! Right in the middle of teenage defiance. I say, if it's not done by 9 or 10, just wait until they're 18.

5 and a few days. He has had a little trouble socially (nothing awful, people like him fine but few close friends), but I think he would have had that problem regardless. He is a really nerdy kid who likes to talk about math a lot. That would have been a problem whether he started school at 5 or 6.
