This will be my daughter's agen when she starts Kindergarten. I expect she will be one of the youngest and possibliy have kids more than a year older due to "red shirting" (which is a different topic, I supposed). My other two: 5 y 9 months and 5 y 8 months (both winter birthdays).

First - 4 years 10 months (DC still had Dec. 31 cutoff then) - he just finished 9th grade, no problems
Second - 5 years 1 month (summer birthday)
Third - 5 years 3 months - a couple of kids in class have May/June birthdays, the rest are all older (fall/winter)

DD - 4 but had Sept birthday and turned 5 a few weeks later. Just graduated HS and never had age related issues. Had plenty of classmates 12-15 months older as well as some 2-3 months younger over the years. Always had friends of various ages and still does.

My daughter is going into 9th and ironically 4 out of the top 5 kids that are the youngest in their grade were the top of their class. My daughter was 4 when she started and applied early entrance. It was the best decision we made. She would have been so bored waiting another year.

5 with a February birthday and 5 with a March birthday.

If all this red shirting continues they will be the youngest in the class!

PP - I'll add that I was a little nervous (because he was a boy!), but it's been fantastic. He's going into 3rd now, and so far, there hasn't been a single kid in his class that was redshirted.
