5.5. Boy. Would not have minded if he were even a bit older.

Five and ten months - he is an October baby. We had no choice - the private school we chose has a strict Septemeber 1st cut off - no exceptions.

5 years 9 months - DC has a late Nov birthday.

Also, cut off at our public is 30 September, and no one in DC's class had a September birthday, so no one started at 4.

Mine was 22. I wasn't sure whether to red shirt him but each year he seemed a little too immature and I was afraid the other kids would sense his immaturity. He is clearly smarter than all the other kids but he's small and I didn't want his first school experience to be a bad one. I hope nobody has a problem with a 23 year old 1st grader.

As long as he brings the black light and Dark Side of the Moon poster he was hoping to use in a college dorm room, I think he'll be fine.
