| Going against the grain - you have ONE mom, at least give it a chance. Reflect on you childhood - if it wasn't for her, there be NO you! |
The woman is still of working age and apparently wants to retire early at the expense of her kids/grand kids. That doesn't sound like it's going to be very practical in this situation especially since the lady will be losing her healthy insurance in the process. At the very least, she should keep her current job until she finds a new one. If the situation was reversed and Op wanted to give it all up and go back to live with her mom at her mom's expense would that be realistic? Op's first consideration is her own children and the well being of her marriage. |
| DON'T DO IT. Made the same mistake as you and now I'm not sure if my MIL will ever leave....UGH!!! |
| Frankly, OP, I feel stressed reading your posts, and I'm just a stranger on the Internet! Don't do it. You'd essentially be adding another, permanent child to your life for the next 35 years. Shudder. |
Ditto. It's a lot easier to say "No" now, than to kick her out later. Past behavior predicts future behavior. |
