Sock puppeting? I've mentioned it previously because I'd like to try one of these boxes & I've been looking at all of the services reviewed by bloggers online - the top 2 are usually Stitch Fix & Front Door Fashion. Trunk Club has been around for ages for men which is why I mentioned that too (now that they have a women's service) - far fewer reviews on it. It's simply sounding like SF isn't for me, so I keep looking for opinions on the others. Obviously, just going to have to try for myself. |
I tried SF for three boxes. First was great but the rest were awful. Overpriced and not cute. I really worked on my profile, comments and Pinterest page. It was supposed to save me time, but it end up being a waste of time and money. |
I received my 3rd SF today and I'm so upset. It was awful. Every piece was so cheap and ugly and PP nailed it- grandma or teenager. My first two boxes were great so I don't know what happened. It was a different stylist. I'm discouraged right now but I'm petite and hate shopping. |
I have a friend who loves her Stitch Fix finds, but I am never impressed by what she ends up with. I would never tell her, but it's all pretty meh to me. |
I have received two Stitch Fit boxes and have so far found everything too overpriced, ill- fitting or just ugly. I would give up, but someone gave me a credit as a gift so I have to use it. |
It all looks ugly. |
Friends of mine said it was high quality...it looks cheap and ugly and they all wear clothes and jewelry from there. They look like clones with layers of necklaces, scarves, and faux leather jackets. |
It totally sucks. They couldn't get ONE ITEM right for me, not even the shitty, shitty necklace they included. |
I like the fit of their pants but everything seems overpriced. |
Nope, you're not the only one. Oversized cheap polyester print tops, overpriced leggings, poor quality jewelry. I wanted to like it and I gave it a shot for 4-5 months. They didn't listen to my feedback at all. |
Their jewelry is like the stuff they sell at Francesca's. Sometimes cute and super cheap. |
Cheap and awful. I told them so. The amazing thing is not that they refunded my money - I returned everything. It's that they then basically told me they would only refund my money if I never used the service again ! It was like you don't like us and we don't like you. I gladly agreed to this. Still, it came across as a cocky startup. |
For the Plus Size gal looking for something similar try Dia & Co. I have used their service and the stuff they sent me was cute! I had trouble with their sizes, mainly because I'm a 1x on top (yay boobs!) but a missy 14 on bottom, so they clothes didn't always fit well, but I did like the combos they sent me. |
I wasn't impressed with Stitch Fix until I tried a maternity box. I was super specific - only tops with rouching on the sides, no open cardigans, no accessories, etc. The first box...open cardigan was the first thing I pulled out. I think I kept one shirt from that box. In my review of the box I mentioned how annoyed I was that it seems like no one read my profile/comments to stylist, a few months later I got an email that they'd wave the styling fee for another box so I went for it. I actually liked all of the things in the second box - but 7 months pregnant, I'm not dropping $200 on more maternity clothes. I did keep two shirts from that one. I don't think I'd do another non-maternity box, but I'd recommend giving a maternity box a shot. |
Same. My first "fix" was really good and I kept all the things. One of the sweaters got a hole in it and they refunded me the $50. I just got my second fix and returned all of the items. They seemed very cheaply made and I felt I could get the same or similar things from Rack or even Forever 21( !) for cheaper. |
