I tried it only because a friend gave me a gift card. I agree that a lot of what is in the box is overpriced and cheaply made. But what sent me over the top was the way the billing statement calculated the gift card, as well as a scam discount if you bought all of the pieces (Whether or not it fits you or you like it, you can't substitute). Supposedly you can trade for a different size, but good luck. If you don't like the style, you're screwed.
Nice idea but buyer beware! Why not order from Nordstrom? Free shipping, free returns, and if you don't like it or it doesn't fit your a** you're not out 300 bucks! (and no, I have no financial interest in Nordstrom) |
My friend attended my birthday in a stitch fix outfit and I was so surprised how tacky she looked - she did not look like herself. She has since cancelled but it really did look cheap. |
I did SF for 3-4 months and discovered it was basically Nordstrom Rack or even Target quality, for Nordstrom prices. I think I kept 3 items that I have since donated/sold. |
STITCH FIX advertised to my mothers on FACEBOOK saying I "LIKED" the service, when I never did. And my step mother ended up getting me a $250 gift certificate because of the fraudulent endorsement, and now, after giving the service a try and seeing that all the items are cheap and totally OFF THE MARK in terms of what I'd want, they are unwilling to return the amount of the gift certificate in any form.
It's FRAUD and they're unwilling to discuss it with me. I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else? And if so, maybe there's enough people for a class action suit against Stitch Fix for their fraudulent practices. |
Stitch fix quality sucks. Not impressed and asked for “lux” and got garbage. Do NOT BUY!!! |
I tried StitchFix after one of my NYC fashionista friends (someone who thinks nothing of dropping $1000 on a purse) recommended it---she intersperses it with her designer stuff. I have had mixed results. I selected a lower price point than I would probably use if shopping IRL so I can't really complain about the quality. I have had really good luck with skirts, terrible luck with blouses/jackets, and mediocre luck with sweaters and pants. I don't do accessories, shoes, or jewelry in my boxes---would rather pick out those items myself. I like getting the boxes and with a large family and working outside the home, I never have anytime to shop, so StitchFix has enabled me to freshen up my wardrobe with a few new items. |
I just tried it again after about a year. My first few boxes were pretty great. I kept 90-80% of what was sent. After that they kept getting worse and worse; fabric quality was poor, my style was ignored, and prices were way too high for the low quality. I just tried again and my two boxes have both been sent back. They just seem to send whatever they have on hand and send me clothes you’d see on a senior citizen. I’m only 47! I swear they send rejects from Dress Barn or Avon catalogs. I’m done. |
Yes. Clothes are cruddy. |
I agree. I was they sent me crazy items and seemed to want to dress me as an old lady. |
I tired both SF and Trunk Club. I thought TC did a much better job. The issue I have with brick and mortar these days is that they don't carry my size in person. I'm petite and many stores have put them online. TC was able to send me the correct size, which I loved. I stopped the service because I didn't need all those clothes because I WAH and I have a prescholer so we don't go out that often anymore. |
This surprises me. I haven’t tried them, but thought about it. But every ad I saw, including the ones on the website, had the same exact clothes. It was jeans, boots, an infinity scarf, an open cardigan, a moto jacket, and some other basic piece you could buy at any store in any mall in generic colors. It was the most generic looking clothing I’ve seen outside of the Gap. I don’t understand how women found it fashionable. |
I like Stitch Fix. I’ve been using it for my work clothes and DD’s clothes for at least a year. |
I think they buy the cheapest stuff they can and put their house labels like 41 Hawthorn on it. |
I gave them a pretty comprehensive, but not too big, pinterest board with my taste. They sent 1 thing in the entire box the two times I tried that I was willing to try. It sucks. It should be free unless you buy something. That'd make it so they send you good stuff and have employees with good taste instead of algorithms picking your clothes. |
YES!! Three boxes; I finally kept one thing because I had a $50 credit. But all crap, terrible fabrics and poor cuts |
