Is this bikini appropriate for a 37 year old woman?

For the pool with the kids, I'd wear something more like what you posted.

Hey, I have had 2 kids and worked hard for my flat tummy and high and tight ass. It won't last forever, so while I got it, I'm going to wear a bikini.

Wow, that is one UGLY suit.

It's near impossible to pee in a one piece. I'll take a bikini any day and....shocker...I don't even have a perfect body.

If you're at the point where you're asking if a suit is age appropriate, then maybe you should consider moving away from that style of suit. I'm 39 and haven't felt like bikinis were age appropriate for at least the last five years, if not more. Bikini to me screams "trying to show off body, looking for mate". That's just a stage I'm well past.

NP here. This is so sad. Enjoy your burqa, I guess.

Ha. Because burqa is the only alternative to bikini?

I'm not sad. I've just grown up past the point where I think it's necessary to show as much of my body as possible. Bikinis have never been about water sport appropriate gear - that would be a two piece more like a tankini or a one piece. Bikinis are about showing off your body. At a certain point, it just looks...desperate.

Perhaps my view is colored by my childhood experience of my very fit stepmom frequently wearing bikinis (mid 30s through maybe early 40s). We were all horribly embarrassed by her. Our friends would snicker. My older brother's friends didn't know how to handle that much mom body/ass/boobs on display. It was generally horrifying. I don't want to be that woman who ought to know better by now.

I'm an avid scuba diver - I'm certified as a rescue diver - and I wear a bikini when I go diving. I prefer the retro styled ones with the full coverage bottom, but that's just because I feel like they look better on me.

I'm 41. Not looking for a mate. Just feel more comfortable in a two piece: I think I look better in one than I do in a one-piece, and I just feel like it's easier to find two-pieces that fit right (since I can buy the top and bottom separately; I'm xxs on top, m on the bottom) than one-pieces.

As the others said, enjoy your burkini. (Actually, I'd probably wear one of those, too; they sound kinda cool.)

NP here, and OP I think that the first bikini you posted is the best of all the rest posted so far in this link. (Can't believe I just looked at them all.) And it's fine for you to wear. In second place for me is the black bikini from Nieman Marcus.

And I agree with the other poster who said that really anyone should wear the suit that makes them feel comfortable. It shouldn't just be for "good bodies."

And I also want to add that I tend to wear two-piece suits for the sake of comfort. I have a long torso, and can't find a one-piece that fits right. (and personally, I'm more interested in hiding my upper thighs than hiding my abdomen.)

I can teach you the art of the pull-to-the-side method! Easy- PEEsy! I perfected my method in college while wearing the '93 version of onesies for women. Still do it at the swim club bathroom.

I think it's cute! I think it's perfectly appropriate for your age.

No...it is a self-respect thing. Sorry, but there are certain things that no one needs to see. Before you can tell me I should look away. I can't. It's like watching a train wreck...you just can't look away.

You are kind of a moron. My mom wore bikini's well into her 60's. She worked out very hard and looked amazing in them, always. Honestly way better than a lot of younger unfit people.

You were and are a prude. Why would you be embarrassed of you very fit stepmother wearing a bikini? You are indeed sad.

Sadly, the majority of women in America (and that goes for all ages) have no business wearing a bikini. My poor eyes!

WTF!!! not you PP, but the first PP! I am 48 and have the body to wear a bikini and will continue to wear one until I look in the mirror and see a body that should not be wearing one. Where in the world were you raised that you would make such a backwards and ignorant statement? Honestly I am curious!

OP - that is a SUPER CUTE suit. not hideous in the least. Buy it, wear it - period the end....

Oh honey get thee to a therapist NOW. You have some deep-seeded issues with your mother. My 14 yr old DD and 11 yr old DS are mighty proud of their bikini-wearing mom. I consider the fact that I am a fit, working mother of two who hasn't let her body go to hell in a hand basket, a good thing. I eat right and take care of myself. And yes, I am happily married.
was your mom perhaps a drinker? or was she ignored by your dad? You make her sound like Mrs. Robinson

You need therapy.

Yeah, you got issues.

Sounds like PP is bitter that the boys were looking at stepmom instead of her.

Seriously. I, too, had a super hot stepmother who wore bikinis. I remember my male friends drooling over her even when I was in my 20s. I have no reason to think a one piece would have changed anything. Plus, bikinis are functional in that they are easy to get on/off and you don't have to sit around with so much wet fabric clinging to you.
