So someone making $30K a year in DC (i.e. the trash truck men) could care less about getting $20? How out-of-touch with reality are you?

I know plenty of people in this income bracket, so just letting you know that a $20 tip is lame.

People making $30k aren't necessarily destitute. Put it in terms of YOUR income. Say you make $150k. Your boss tips you along the same tipping scale. Would you really care about a $100 tip? If you're being truthful, you'll admit that it would be lame.

I'd like to do this, but with the trash guys at one time of the day and the recycling guys at another, and not knowing when they come or exactly how many there are ... it's just too much for me!!

Might give some cash to our postman, though ... if it's the regular guy (last year someone else turned up!).

I tip them at Christmas because it's the decent thing to do.

How much do you tip them?

As I said on a similar thread, why do you and anyone else give a shit what anybody else does with their money?

I make over $100/hour and still love a $20 tip (free lunch).

I was gonna say that I think most people love free stuff no matter how rich they are. Years ago some company wanted to see how cheap Donald Trump is so they sent him a check for 1 cent to see if he would cash it. And he did!

I've got awards in work basically worth the price of a movie. I've never being unhappy with them.

We are not the boss of the garbage guys anyway. WTF are you talking about?

Why would it be lame, I would be thrilled. I would be happy if my boss took me to lunch, or brought me coffee.

When did you hire all the garbage guys? You probably can not afford even one.

I tried one year. They said they did not drink for religious reason. It was embarrassing.

You could always pretend you forgot it was trash day and run out in your short shorts with a ten stuck between your boobies...that I am sure would be appreciated!
