Why is Maryland overlooked on this forum?

"The wierd thing is the VT mascot gets massacred on thanksgiving. VT just can't catch a break"

Shouldn't laugh... But.

Sad but true.
I also think of how is it possible that VT has zero national championships in any sport and zero Pulitzer or Nobel alumni.
Instead... Vt has had a student massacre , ugly architecture , dingy locale, a beheading in the dining hall, a cop shot in the face , and a alumnus who massacred and wounded at fort hood.

The worst

You forgot distinguished alumnus Michael Vick.

I think a black bear was slaughtered in a VT parking garage last year too. ^^^

UVA = drunk... Title search grads
W&M = suicide epidemic / murder-suicide participants

Umd = happy couch burning inventors, creators , broadcasters and celebrities!!!

1. I'm actually embarrassed for this guy because he clearly thinks UMD is Harvard, despite the unfortunate fact that he can't spell (doesn't bode we'll for his alma mater), and this is all setting aside the fact that he doesn't appear to live in reality. But I find his insistence that UMD is the Awesomest School Ever so hilarious that I just can't quit him!

Funny, you mention pulitzers, but no mention of the most prestigious scholarship/award for undergraduate students. Rhodes scholars:

UVA - 47
W&L - 15
WM - 6
VT - 2
ODU - 1
UMD - 1

No denying that UMD has hired some great minds and some undergrads have gone on to success, but to act like they are the only school to have graduates that did anything of note is ignorant. You also don't cover the school in glory by running around trying to insult other schools just because most people and rankings rate them higher.

It's like the Energizer Bunny but not nearly as cute.

Connie Chung, Kiren Chetry, Heidi Collins , Juliana Rancik, Larry David, Jim Henson , Sergi Brin, Stenny Hoyer, Dianne Weist, Karen Allen, Gale King, Carly Fiorina, Kevin Plank..
Are all Umd grads... Lots of broadcasting and entrepreneur types and inventor / creator types . Not really the school for shrinking violet conformer types or people who are easily depressed.

Yes, not like people whose plan is an Ivy or SLAC then law school followed by a partnership in Daddy's firm.

On average, UMD grads come from lower social economic status groups and are "hungrier." That is why they do so much better on their own than UV A trust fund babies.
