What is your Thanksgiving Day menu?

the thing about coming from an ethnic background is that you have to mix up the ethnic foods with the traditional. somehow it works.

Roast turkey
Cornbread dressing
Cranberry sauce
Mashed sweet potatoes
Roasted green beans
Rolls
maybe a corn pudding (probably in ramekins)

Pumpkin pie
Apple pie
Pecan pie
maybe Indian pudding

There will only be 6 of us, so I might skip the corn pudding and Indian pudding. There's only so much food we can eat!

Oh man, I forgot to add the jello salad! I'll also be making my Midwestern grandmother's jello salad recipe, which is lemon jello with grated carrot and crushed pineapple. It sounds gross, but it's so delicious in that 50s-convenience-food way.

It's an old-fashioned New England dessert. Not fancy at all, but delicious (we used to have it sometimes at my college).
Here's a link with a little bit of background and a recipe:

Well I'm from the south so now it makes total sense why I had never heard of this! It actually looks pretty good.

I'm from the south, too, and I'd never had it until I went off to college. It's not pretty, but so good!

+2- what proportion and brands? I'd love to steal!

Sorry, just came back to this thread: I think we have Stoli Caramel Vodka. I know another brand makes a salted caramel. I just eyeball a shot to a glass of cider. Nothing scientific. It is awesome cold over ice, but would be lovely warmed up too...
