Theology of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

What stops me is... My belief in a loving God, my gratitude for the gift of Christ and my understanding of the pitiful state of humanity.

What stops you is your worship of your little feelings of the moment.

I'm smarter.

Ah, cool. So without Christ everybody's basically a Hitler. Now we really get to the meat and potatoes.

Wrong...they are without value and illogical .

For you: God => Godlen Rule => morality.
For me: Golden Rule => morality.
For Hiler: Everything for Germany!

The distinction is not God, but the Golden Rule.

The problem with your logic is that you haven't defined "Golden Rule." For religious people it's the 10 Commandments, keeping kosher, following Jesus' commands to live your neighbor, or paying zakat and doing the Hajj.

For you, the Golden Rule might involve honesty and kindness, but for someone else it might just mean, just don't kill anyone as you make your millions (whoever has the gold makes the rules). I think the PP is saying, morals can be really fuzzy if you make them up yourself. George Bernard Shaw pointed out that how I want to be treated is probably different in many ways from how you want to be treated. Basically, the Golden Rule reflects dominant societal values at the time - and that has not always been a good thing.

So no, platitudes about the Golden Rule aren't much help.

I'm not sure you understand what the "golden rule" is.

It means simply, to treat people how you want to be treated. That's all. It's pretty straightforward. It's basic humanism, and while it's a common belief of religion, it pre-dates modern organized religion as a simple human ethic.

What makes an atheist better than hitler? Or a rock? Why would beliefs of any type terrify a person who has no meaning in the big picture ? They are of no greater consequence than a pile of crap.

Don't you understand? Atheists are illogical because they don't believe in a specific god that PP chooses is the right and true specific god out of all the thousands of gods creates by humans, because hitler. Or potatoes. Or something like that. It makes total sense, can't you see why PP is so smart??

I seriously think they're a troll. Or 9 years old, and got on their parents' computer. The person is responding like a completely uneducated, know-it-all child.

Any theology is more logical than a atheist who thinks his feelings and opinions are of any consequence . Why would they matter more than a rock .. Which will be here after humans are extinct? Just a bunch of foolish children worshiping their wittle feelwings.!

So, by this reasoning, it's better to worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster than to be an atheist. Fine by me!

Where are you from PP? I'm really curious what your native language is.

Everyone knows the Great Pumpkin is the one true lord that I will worship for all eternity. Hitler did not believe in the Great Pumpkin, so therefore the Great Pumpkin is the opposite of Hitler and I have the BEST ethics and morals of all of you.

^^ at least it's logical. Without Devine purpose you are nothing more than a rock or a leaf so spouting your stupid opinions and infringing others time with your less than nothing feelings is illogical ,

Sorry. In the interest of fairness, I'll use your phrasing:

Without Christ, basically everybody's without value and illogical.

Got it.
