This thread started at the request of a religious person upset about the FSM being discussed in the thread on "Religion and Humor"

according to wikipedia:

NB, the religious person was "upset" (actually, annoyed by your childishness) because you were banging on about the "serious intent" behind the FSM on a thread that was supposed to be about humor. Anybody can go to that thread and read what actually hapoened there, so it's kinda mind-boggling that you think you can rewrite history here. This thread is fine with me, a religious person. Talk about the FSM on this thread to your hearts' content! And that other atheist on the humor thread who wanted to know if God has a plan for gay Episcopal clergy can start her own thread, too. Then the humor thread can go back to being about humor.

What I don't get is why atheists never understand thread topic headers. It's very puzzling, because you start to think that atheists can't reason straight. Maybe I'll start a thread on it....

If you think you are worth more than an ant ... You believe in God.

Without God ... Your existence is less meaningful than a rock. The rock will be here long after you die. Whether you live or die is of no consequence . Hitler is no better or worse than you he's just a sub -rock too.

This sounds very narcissistic. I concur that our existence is relatively meaningless, except for those close to us on earth - and that's what compels me to make the most of little, fleeting moments. I'm not special, and neither are you. We're not special snowflakes at all. We're farts - that's kind of the point. There were many farts before us, and there will be more after.

The difference is, I'm ok with that. I'm not sitting and pretending like some Great Pumpkin has a special golden plan for me, and follows each and every thing I do. I don't care that my fart continues on for eternity - I accept making the most of my short time now. I don't need some artificially constructed grand plan to make me feel relevant.
