If you had to choose another country to live in, where would you go?

You could start with the Netherlands, and if you're a bad girl, saint nicolas and schwarze pete (black pete) will take you to Spain . I second spain!

France, Paris. I've never felt like I belonged in a city as much as I do when I visit there. But if I ever left, I'd probably end up in Germany, DH's home country.

Second Thailand! Beautiful beaches, fabulous food, mountains, great clothing/textile industry, Bangkok is a major metropolis, everyone speaks english, Thai massages and spas...

Our problem is that DH would want to go somewhere tropical and HOT, where the main attraction is playing in the water. Thailand. Honduras. I like cool, dry weather where you wear a sweatshirt in the morning and take it off when you've been hiking for a while. Plus some cities that aren't steambaths. Scotland, Or Scotland. Or Scotland.

We'd probably compromise on Italy where every form of landscape is accessible and you're a closer hop to some of the other places he likes. My family all comes from Italy. We know the beautiful places off of the beaten path.

But our real fantasy move is right in the U.S. The San Juan Islands in the Puget Sound.

That's funny, these are the two I would avoid. The damp cold in the Netherlands and the horrible food in Spain along with pollution are hard to take.

omg the food in Spain is delicious!
