If you had to choose another country to live in, where would you go?

I'm LMAO at the "horrible food" comment. Spain has been in the press constantly for its fantastic, at-the-cutting-edge food scene in the past several years. It has cast a shadow over France in this regard.

England or South Africa.

Speaking of PP, just saw a really good food program, just like they have on FoodTV but the presenter was Spanish. So I believe you!

Hmmm...so many places

I would say Italy, Spain, or Ireland would be top 3.

Italy is #1 on my list followed by Spain, Costa Rica, & Argentina

My heart would choose Spain - love the language, the culture, the food, the people, the history.

My head would choose Austria - it's very clean, very safe, great infrastructure, good education, good medical/health options (including a public option of health care!) and centrally located.

I have lived in both and would be thrilled to return to either.

Everyone I know who moves to Australia loves it for the first year or so - great outdoors, lifestyle, even good food now in the cities. But after that they become increasingly bored. The problem is the people, I am afraid. Ultimately, as with Canada, the people lack any "edge", and become somewhat tedious.

What an utterly ridiculous statement.

No, it's true. All Australians are really boring and tedious. You didn't know that? I haven't lived there, but I've been there a lot, and I know that personally, I got really tired of friendly, helpful people who enjoyed talking to Americans. I specifically got fed up with the fact that Australia is almost disgustingly family friendly. I mean, what country would bother building airports, even the tiniest ones, that have clean family restrooms/lounges, where not only are there changing tables, but also comfortable chairs to sit in while feeding your baby, and microwaves for heating up food? I could go on and on with my examples, but yes, I agree that Australia would be a terrible place to live and raise a family.

Australians are some of most racist people I've ever met. Beautiful country, but I'll have to agree with the PP. The people are tedious.

Italy without a doubt, but don't think DH would go for it, so we would probably choose Ireland

Italy without a question
