Right. Someone who has actually been "prepped" for university. As opposed to whatever it is the poors do. |
That is a contradiction in terms. |
No, Catholic WASPY is a contradiction. Preppy is really more of a way of dressing and life style. WASPY is an overall way of being, which is often preppy but a lot more. |
Don't tell the Columbia Country Club set! |
|
Is there a nice happy medium school? It seems that either a school is:
too Greek too crunchy and everyone smokes dope too preppy and full of boozers Perhaps we should save money and homeschool for college |
Of course there is a middle ground. People like to talk in exaggerated stereotypes when discussing schools. Just as they do when they are discussing cliques in high school. Have you never med a smart otherwise well rounded person who is crunchy and smokes weed or boozes? At any school with any "reputation" there are going to be kids who are in the middle and not into partying or not into smoking weed but are academically interested and artsy or whatever. |
| Univ of Richmond is very preppy but sounds like she can aim higher so for Ivies I would say Princeton |
Not real Catholics. CINO |
Most state schools aren't as preppy as private ones. Miami of Ohio is a public school. Odd that it would be preppy. |
No. Ultimate frisbee is the popular sport there |
| I went to Harvard, unless things have really changed, the Ivys don't have "a Greek scene" and actually scorn such stuff. They do have dining clubs, however. |
Oh, boloney. The clubs at Harvard, Princeton and Yale function just as fraternities and sororities do, regardless of their names or provenance. The "Greek scene" is very active at Dartmouth, Penn, and Cornell, and, exists even at Columbia and Brown. |
| Agree with PP, the Greek scene is alive and well perhaps under a different name..its all the same. A bunch of horny rowdy college kids looking for an excuse to get drunk, get laid and make an ass of themselves..yes even at Harvard. |
Haven't you seen "The Social Network"?
