Some people would look at a bag that cost $1,000 and think "what a great bag. I really treated myself. How wonderful."

....whereas I would always look at that bag and think "oh my gosh I could have spent that money in such a smarter way. I could have bought several bags (which will still last years and years!) and other accessories as well."

Sort of like when I look at my car. Is it fancy? Nope. Is it sexy and sporty? Nope. Is it paid for in full and does it suit all of my needs? Yes and yes.

OP thank you for your contribution to DC fashion with whatever you buy. Some of the bags ladies in DC wear are really horrible.

Are you married? Did you get an engagement ring (did you return it and buy a bunch of smaller pieces of jewelry)? Was you wedding more than a small private ceremony and cocktail/bbq/potluck reception? Does your car have a sunroof? Do you have an air conditioned home? Do you ever buy something at a regular retail store or do you only shop at goodwill/consignment shops for everything? Do you ever eat out? Do you ever get a mani or pedi? These are things that people choose to spend money on but would seem like an extreme extravagance by others who don't have as much disposable income. I love many European luxury items and prefer to have a few quality items that last forever versus 20+ cheap pieces
And always hear this judgment from women at work when they choose to blow money in other ways that I am personally more frugal about.
Fashion items are somehow not ok but all the stuff listed above is?
The only judgment if any should be if you can't afford it...if you can get the fuck out of choice of what I enjoy doing with my disposable income that I work my ass off for.
