If you had $1,000 to spend on a purse, what would you get?

Yum. Those are both beautiful, OP. I like the first of the two personally. I think it has just a bit more style than the other. More lively and youthful, as much as expensive black leather bags can be lively and youthful, that is. Lucky you!

The second one seems more timeless than the first to me.

Nice choices OP. I liek the first one better....the second is not as versatile as it works for like it is best for work.

Whatever you choose congrats!

I don't think the OP asked for your personal judgments on whether she should spend the $1k on a bag. She asked for suggestions for an expensive bag. You may think it is "a waste," but maybe someone gave her this gift for a special reason and she's always wanted to buy an expensive bag.

I'd break the amount up. Great bag, maybe shoes, some jewelry...

What do you guys think about these?

i like the first one better but don't think i could get my head around spending that much on a bag...

I would feel like pretty stupid if I spent $1,000 on a purse. Since it's a gift card, buy a couple outfits and get things on sale.

OP, I have a Ferragamo bag. I love it. I bought it because my DH gave me a Ferragamo wallet 12 years ago, and it still looks great. So I decided that, rather than buying new purses and having them look awful every year, I would splurge on a Ferragamo. No regrets.

Love the first one

I also love Ferragamo bags. Have a bunch of them, and they have held up really well over the years.

Here is another option:

Love the first ferragamo. I also really like Tods and Marni. Dont really care for Marc Jacobs except for a few styles - too many knock offs.

You realize that's gross, right? Like, disgusting. I hope someone serrates it with a knife.

I look at a purchase like this as investment shopping. She is is going to buy something of high quality that she will be able to use for years. Besides, what she does with her gift card is her business.
