After awhile it just looks pathetic--no matter how fit you are--like you are trying to stay young when you are not. Growing old gracefully means accepting that some fashions are just not right after a certain age (shorty shorts, midriff bearing tops, extremely low cut tops and bikinis, to name a few).

This is so silly. I am 42, work out, eat healthy, and generally take really good care of myself. I will continue to wear my bikini. Where is this coming from anyway? When I go to the beach or on vacation, I see women wearing all kinds of different bathing suits that look great on their body type.

Me too. No stretch marks, no c-sections.

43. 2 kids. I have worked out hard my entire life. Stomach and legs best body parts. I have a 6-pack. I also am olive toned (j-LO coloring). Not wrinkly at all.

I look better in a bikini than a tankini or one-piece. They hide my best features.

DH says no way am I wearing a one-piece when I broached the subject,

Denise Richards pic and Aniston are my shape- both my age.

When I used to live further north, I did not consider wearing a bikini. But at Maryland beaches, pools, etc, it's so hot! And muggy! A bikini lets whatever cool breeze there is get to your skin and help cool you. When you jump in the water, it lets the cool water cool you much more effectively. I have to admit that before I moved down here, I would have been too embarrassed to wear a bikini. Now I am jealous that men can go topless.

I say you have to adapt to the climate, and in places like Maryland, a bikini or even less is appropriate at any age.
