Girlfriend obsessed with her dog

I think your girlfriend needs a different boyfriend.

Some close friends of mine talked online for quite awhile before they met. Unbeknownst to one another, they each brought a dog, so, if the date was bad, they could say, "Oops, gotta go! My dog's in the car." They're very happy together.

If you mean I put my own needs first, yes, I do. I'm absolutely not going to drastically change my life for a man like OP who needs to feel like he's #1 and pouts over a dog hike every other weekend or because I don't want to shell out $300 to board my dog for a mediocre weekend trip.

Do you really want to spend money on her high maintenance dog or boarding anytime you take a vacation? Just move on. People from other cultures might have dogs as pets without putting animals over humans.

I knew my BIL was great for my sister when I watched him give meds and snuggle my sister's elderly dog. That dog ended up loving BIL as much as he loved my sister. BiL took care of him because he's a good compassionate guy it was also a way of showing he cared for my sister and the things that mattered to her.

I find this stuff so weird because the person in my life who was arguably the biggest dog fan in my life was my grandmother who had 7 children. She took them on long walks every day and the park put up a bench commemorating ber when she died. We brought her dogs to the wake.

2) I cannot imagine the compensating factors that would cause me to not eject right now. She sucks. Pick up the phone right now. You are in a rut. Get out of it.

this is a huge red flag. You need to clear it up with your GF on her priorities. She has no time for you or your kids if that's what she does.
