| I am similar. 5’3, just turned 40, NEVER had trouble maintaining weight until having my last kid at 37. I had gestational diabetes that converted to insulin resistance and nothing - and I mean nothing - I did for weight loss worked until I started Zepbound. |
| Reading about people talking about being fat at 140 and 5’4 is so depressing. |
I was once over 200 and this would depress me; however, I am now close to 120 and actually, yes, 140 is not slim. also, people's attitudes towards me changed much more when I went from 140 to 120ish than when I went from 200+ to 140. |
I’m 145 and 5’5 and 1/2… I am an hourglass shape but very slender legs and arms. Please do not tell people how their bodies do or don’t carry weight. What a gross ED culture we live in when someone is telling people they need to get down to 120 at 5’4 to be acceptable to others. |
Yes! I am a size 2-4. x-small dress. Small to extra small in clothes at that height weight (5’5”, 145). Muscular, proportional and people place me around 125-130. I have a large rib cage and large wrists (big boned- hard to find bracelet that fit) If I drop below 140 people tell me I’m too skinny. |
You are consuming more calories than you think and when off the GLP1 you eat more than you think. |
To add to this you life a lifestyle that is not conducive to maintaining 120lbs without medication. Could be eating out, alcohol... but If you gain weight you are in a calorie surplus. |
Sorry but it's true. I was 140 at 5'1 and it was awful. I had stomach rolls and a double chin! It was way to much weight for my body and my back was hurting as well (I was a DDD). I've thought about my weight my whole life. But now that I lost it and am microdosing, I never think about it. I never worry about how my butt looks in pants, whether something is too tight or if my stomach looks big. I just get up and put clothes on. Everything looks good. |
NP but no. I track calories. I am eating the exact same amount on a microdose and am not gaining weight. It really isn't calories in, calories out. It's doing something with insulin resistance and how your body holds on to calories. |
Can you please elaborate on this? Do you mean you started getting attention from men? Or that other women were nicer to you? Or something else? |
Is this actual science? Is there something I can read about it? How does someone check if they’re insulin resistant? I also had GD with my last pregnancy and have had an awful time with weight after that. I’ve restricted so much that my a1c is good though. Finally in healthy bmi range though I still need to lose another 20+ lbs. Does that mean I’m not insulin resistant? |
| I think the problem is that difference in calories to maintain your ideal weight vs your regular weight is VERY small. Probably the equivalent of one apple or a glass of juice or a cookie. It’s not noticeable on a daily basis but adds up over a year. |
Check your blood glucose one hour after eating, after every meal, for a week. If it’s over 100 consistently you’re likely insulin resistant. You can get everything you need to do this at your local pharmacy. The reading requires a small drop of blood, which you’ll prick your finger to get. |
i find this very hard to believe. |
I don’t. Noticeable thinness is HIGHLY valued in our society. Going from normal thin to enviably thin is definitely cause for increased attention etc. I believe it 100% (and would love to hear more). |
