I am similar. 5’3, just turned 40, NEVER had trouble maintaining weight until having my last kid at 37. I had gestational diabetes that converted to insulin resistance and nothing - and I mean nothing - I did for weight loss worked until I started Zepbound.
Is this actual science? Is there something I can read about it? How does someone check if they’re insulin resistant? I also had GD with my last pregnancy and have had an awful time with weight after that. I’ve restricted so much that my a1c is good though. Finally in healthy bmi range though I still need to lose another 20+ lbs. Does that mean I’m not insulin resistant?
Check your blood glucose one hour after eating, after every meal, for a week. If it’s over 100 consistently you’re likely insulin resistant. You can get everything you need to do this at your local pharmacy. The reading requires a small drop of blood, which you’ll prick your finger to get.
