I actually think the press just makes stuff up sometimes- about both sons. William usually ignores it, but Harry and Meagan have made it their mission to take the press to task. Harry was just overseas testifying against one of the papers recently. I don't really believe all these articles. |
DP. Oh I had forgotten about that scene! Meghan seemed super annoyed and Mindy seemed clueless. I don’t know why Netflix didn’t cut it, it was so awkward! |
William doesn't ignore completely ignore it, although he does a better job of ignoring than Harry and Meghan do. Last week there was an article about Kate visiting a Hindu temple where she took off her shoes and exposed, gasp, bunions and toenail fungus. Those articles were taken down after a day. Yes, Harry and Meghan are currently suing the Mail for tapping their phones several years ago. The weird thing about the "feuding" articles is that certain "journalists" predictably take the same sides. Becky English speaks for Charles, Tom Sykes speaks for William, and so on. Amanda Platell, Liz Jones, and AN Wilson have apparently been given permission to completely trash the Waleses recently, which is very surprising. Who knows. Agree that half of it is lies, either planted by one of the palaces, or completely made up by bored "journalists" who need to file something, anything, by the deadline. |
I agree it was a totally awkward exchange. But it is substantively different, because your take made her look extra mean. Awkward as this exchange was, it seems fair. Meghan seemed to want to get the message out that she's done being called by her father's name bc she's married. "Meghan Sussex" seems fair because the Waleses children, and William and Harry when they were young, use(d) "Waleses" as their surname at school, for sporting events, et cetera. As Meghan also pointed out during this same exchange that her kids use Sussex as their surname at school. And she didn't say "call me Duchess Meghan," nor has she used "HRH" recently, so there's that. Kate's stans famously object to her still being called "Kate Middleton," and this doesn't seem very different. |
It's bizarre because who has to correct a 'friend" that way. She's a faker with phony friends. Otherwise why be like "Akshually..." |
I just looked them up because I didn’t know. Meghan’s Instagram is “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.” I guess because here in the U.S. we don’t use titles like that, her drivers license and official paperwork would just say “Meghan Sussex.” I imagine she often gets asked how she wants to be introduced. It is confusing. It looks like Kate is recognized as “Catherine, Princess of Wales.” I’m assuming across the pond they call her “Princess Kate” or “Princess Catherine”. I feel bad but I’ll probably always call her “Kate Middleton”! That’s just how I came to know her. It’s like any celebrity who gets married and takes her partner’s new name but you just can’t make it click. |
I think you're grasping at straws so you don't have to backtrack, or your friends must really walk on eggshells around you if you parse the meaning behind "and you know that" or "you know." Not everyone is a "hater," but we can recognize a less-than-flattering exchange that should have been edited. I personally wonder if Netflix left it in to stir the pot. |
She's not allowed to use HRH for commercial purposes. It's not her choice, it's a legal agreement. She is billed as Meagan, Duchess of Sussex all the time, including at an upcoming retreat in Australia. |
Yeah she's still called Kate Middleton all the time. The press ran a story that she emailed her friends before she got married telling them to call her "Catherine." According to the story, she made the request in a humorous way, but it was a real request. Who knows if it's true! |
What? This is scary projection-level bs. I agreed it was awkward. Were you wanting me to grovel? |
The Mail and other outlets still call her Kate Middleton, probably for SEO as much as anything else. You can always count on 10-20 outraged posters in the comments section demanding they stop calling her that, lol. |
