Skyview Information for Families of Attending Kids

Well, of these:

Jets. Simple. Retro.

Navy/Gray/Teal.

Not sure why there is no Navy/White/Teal - which is Nautical and Sky-Caribbean esque (I happen to like this combo). Not sure where the gray came in. Completely lost on why you would name a school SKYview and consider black and white colors.

Teal would make sense because purple and teal are Carson colors and almost all of the students will come from Carson. Nice to have that continuity. I hope it's Falcons.

It's my understanding that the kids made the proposals, not the adults.

Skyview HS Mascot and school colors will be down to the top 3 choices which will be chosen by the students attending the HS this month.

All of the choices with teal are awful. Navy and White or Black and White are fine, but the other choices are terrible.

The choices are real, they were announced right before Spring Break at the meet the Department Chair night at Skyview.

My kid voted for Storms. He said Yeti comes from the “there are no sorts, yet” and “some electives are not available yet” and not a mythical creature. It is kind of brilliant in its own way.

Has anyone heard plan for full sports? I know next year unlikely but follow-on years any hope?

Skyview HS "Possible" Sports Timeline-

Year 1 No Sports (Fresh and Soph Opt In)

Year 2 Freshman/JV Sports (Boundary is set and students can Opt Out)

Year 3 Freshman/JV/Varsity Sports (Boundary is set and students are required to attend Skyview)

Outdoor and indoor facilities are needed as well.

They will have sports in 27. 26 will be club sports.

Also interesting in today's visit - kids were told that block days will alternate with 1. interdisciplinary teaching of core subjects with flexible time allocations 2. electives and study halls or whatever.

This is already evidence of a new model in education. I am excited for it.

This is true. They seem to be heavily modeling TJ's course schedule with IBET and other teamed courses. Not sure how this would work with a general population.

I would love it if one of you would explain this to me. Please give an example if you can because I just don't understand.
