DP. No, PP is correct. I’m from so Ca. Most of us think this way and roll our eyes. Everyone knows USC’s “success” is due to marketing, and marketing alone - especially to east coast families who don’t know its history. Just like Northeastern. It will always be the “University of Spoiled Children” and my niece recently went there, too. Btw it’s now $99,432 a year . |
Have to be a 6, 7 at least |
Not my experience at all. We’re a Trojan family and the network is alive and well. |
I think many universities are simply ignoring admissions laws and doing what they want. |
| Stanford weighs legacy less heavily than HYP. |
No, they don't interview or require videos other than for a select few majors - so how would they know what an applicant looks like? |
Despite being involved in the admissions scandal, USC's reputation is still better than Northeastern's. At my kid's public school, anyone who applies to Northeastern ED is practically guaranteed an acceptance among their many study abroad and various other programs. Not the case for USC. |
+1 Accommodations carry more weight at Stanford. |
All this shows is that you are an idiot who can’t adjust their opinion to match the times. Enjoy living four decades behind the rest of us. |
| Very high stats boy another strong ecs accepted from our DMV private. Top 5 percent of class so doubting these yield protection claims. |
With string ecs. Seems like autocorrect gets worse by the day. |
My daughter was rejected EA class of 2024. |
USC has an even worse reputation for people living in California, since the UC schools are better and way cheaper and in better locations. Back in my day, the only kids who went to USC were USC legacies or kids who couldn't get into UCLA but wanted to stay in L.A. |
DC has a crazy high NMSF cutoff, though. I bet they’re trying to maximize their profile stats while minimizing their obligations to pay out their famous National Merit scholarships. That would, counterintuitively, make high stats kids who are not NMSF extra valuable. |
Exactly, back in your day, the rest of the world has moved on grandma. |
