| DD with 1580 SAT, IB and 5 APs (all 5s), normal ECs, deferred from Viterbi which is her first choice. Ugh. |
|
Two friends of DD were accepted EA, strong stats but not extraordinary, both are legacy.
Interestingly, USC along with Stanford decided to defy CA's new law outlawing legacy so they are continuing to weigh legacy highly. All other CA private colleges are complying with no legacy. |
| USC is looking like California Cornell with these stats. |
What do you mean? |
|
- 3.95 UW; 1540 SAT; 9 AP's
- Lots of volunteer hours, played two sports, 2 years of part time work Accepted EA to USC |
| How did ED to Marshall Business go? This was the first year, any acceptances? |
| My DC was accepted as well! Very happy home. Go Trojans! |
|
Kids I know of who were accepted in the 1400s SAT bc they told my kid (also not NMSF or annything either) and good students but not cum laude. They are private school DMV kids.
Those are actual data points. So the earlier poster info is simply not correct |
Geography wins |
Legacy wins. |
At least two from same Montgomery County HS were accepted. Both women. |
Perhaps both were full pay? |
DMV private school kid with 35 ACT and high GPA—deferred. I don’t think you can make any assumptions. |
Meaning your kid doesn't have a famous person as their parent. |
| I didn’t realize Viterbi was quite so competitive. According to the email sent to accepted students, around 12,500 applied EA. There will be 450 first-year students in the incoming class, they didn’t specify how many were accepted early. |
