I don't know why other colleges don't get mentioned more. There's nothing to stop people from posting though. My DC applied to several other colleges not mentioned, but RD, so not relevant for this thread. |
Yes. I’m in DC proper and nearly every high-stats kid applies to Pitt. The Virginia and Maryland schools are less common here, largely because if you were locked in on those schools you’d move in time to get the in-state rate, but they’re near-universal in their respective suburbs. And why not? Even if you’re EDing to a T10, you need safeties and targets, and the state schools are very good. Where are you from that kids don’t apply to the equivalent local schools? |
| Waiting for Rutgers! |

They mentioned in a podcast that AI use in evaluating apps may speed up the process. |
| My kid is happy and commited to one of her rolling admission schools. Any EA acceptances will just be cherries on the cake. |
Good luck- we are also waiting on Oberlin and UMASS Amherst. |
Also waiting on Umass Amherst! |
| GT updated their website and EA2 decisions will be released January 30. |
Pitt is rolling admission so many high stats kids apply to get early acceptances which may or may not alter their target lists. It also gives kids confidence boost heading into a turbulent time. Same thing with Penn State and some rolling SEC schools. |
yes. |
| JMU is soon. They emailed the students to log in to their portal to be sure they can log in when decisions come out. |
Yes-wonder if it’ll be Friday? |
Good luck! |
