40 degree temperature drop, more and more polar vortex events every winter. Global cooling is on the horizon. |
Most? No. Many? Yes. |
| When Democrats went after Tesla. It killed the EV market. |
So that means for most buyers, the fact that the range is bad when you're towing (which is also the case for a gas truck, you just aren't used to thinking about gas mileage that way) is totally irrelevant. |
What's the 40 degree temperature drop? Are you talking about ... winter? The polar vortex events are not evidence that widespread global cooling is on the way. |
lol EV(pure EVs not hybrids) sales in 2025 worldwide was 25% of all new cars. For the next five years it is projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 25-30%. These number exclude the US which is 16% of the car market. Tesla is be out of business within 5 years. The US car market is pretty close to irrelevant. The Republicans killed EVs in the US and continue to kill cheap scalable renewables energy that have construction times of 6-12 months. The US electrical grid within 3 years will be one of the highest cost electricity grids in the world putting the US at a competitive disadvantage. Good job republicans! |
Elon Musk did by being himself. And it's not dead yet. |
hahahhaahahhahaha no they will not. |
DP the Chinese have EV semi trucks that out preform diesel semis. The new batteries coming out in china are 2.5 times the energy density and 1/2 the price of the best batteries this year. Ford built the f150 EV on the body of the gas powered f150 to avoid retooling their plants. It is full of compromises. If the Chinese wanted to build a F150 EV with 550 miles range while towing 12,500 pounds they could easily do it and for 1/1 the price of a maxed out f150 gas. |
My truck will go 350 miles towing before needing to fill up, 700 without. The lightning might go 100-150 miles with a similar load. Not even remotely the same. I get more range when towing than the lightning gets unloaded. |

Here is a summary of the current situation with Tesla. Down 10-20% is bad for finances but not evidence of a big demand shift. EV incentives expired in September, which is making prices go up.
https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/2025/12/30/tesla-broadcasts-downbeat-sales-estimates-in-unusual-move/87964855007/ Tesla broadcasts downbeat sales estimates in unusual move Craig TrudellBloomberg Dec. 30, 2025, 5:34 p.m. ET The carmaker posted estimates to its website showing analysts on average expect the company to deliver 422,850 cars in the fourth quarter, down 15% from a year earlier. That compares with a Bloomberg-compiled average of 440,907 vehicles, an 11% drop. |
Tesla’s CEO also went out of his way to alienate the people likeliest to buy EVs last year. |
Tesla made the major of its money from carbon offsets from other car makers. That is over. Tesla sales are way down because everyone hate Elon, better EVs at a cheaper price and EV tax credit in US is gone. This is all just tech similar to phones and computers. The first to market rarely survives. This is a technology revolution. BYD’s EV are out selling Japanese car makers in Southeast Asia and the Uk. |
| BYD sells cars below cost, thanks to PRC govt subsidies. No wonder they have market share. |
