No way will there be closure!

No closure, but I read on the MoCo forum that they’re doing a delay tomorrow.

So, nobody cares about middle school kids?
Middle schooler safety would be achieved: buses are on the roads around 6:30, when it’s still dark and icy.

Agreed. My kid needs to cross a road in the dark. I rather her be able to see any ice.

My bet is on a two hour delay. I just watched several cars struggle on our street and my husband who grew up in Buffalo slid in our neighborhood earlier. Very glad our 16 year old was not driving.

Two hour delay. Too cold for Larla and Larlo to stand at the bus stop in the morning.

My bet is on a 2 hour delay with reassessment in the morning. Capital Weather Gang doesn't suspect ice melting until Tuesday.

Diesel can start to turn to gel and 20F.

Call it. No days used yet. No reason to risk it.

Why mocking? Should we wait for an accident to start taking safety seriously?
School buses on icy roads are a bad idea. Extreme cold and icy roads are real safety concerns. The goal should be preventing accidents, not reacting after something happens

All our neighborhood roads are ice with a rare patch of bare asphalt. Main roads are fine, ordinary. On all of our neighborhood roads, we are sliding all over the place. Even in low gear going slow.

- outside the beltway. Woodson HS pyramid

I’m sure the roads in Tysons corner are fine. My road in Lorton is awful.

Closed is fine by us.

At least 1/4 in black ice on all roads near me.

Same pyramid and agreed. Our neighborhood is rough.

I hope they call the 2 hour delay and do it soon...no reason to risk students' safety with so many roads still icy.

The safety threat to kids is driving not busses. If we’re going to take safety seriously can we at least asses risk accurately?
