| Will there still be ice on Monday morning 12/15? |
| Depends. The models can't decide on whether fairfax county is going to get a dusting or 3 inches of snow. If we get a dusting, school will be fine to be open Monday morning but if we get 3 inches followed by temps not breaking 30, I'd guess Monday and maybe Tuesday off. |

CWG: 1-2" for Beltway area, w/ higher chance of boom than bust (2-5")
Time: Saturday night - Sunday morning. They will have enough time to clear the streets, so I bet: 70% on time (30% with a 2-hour delay). But it's still early. |
|
New boom scenario is 5 inches. That would easily close school through Tuesday PM. However, the bust scenario may have us on time for Monday (unless they delay due to potential icing and the brutal wind chill).
If I had to bet right now, I'd put my $ on delayed start Monday, then a normal week. Let's see what mother nature provides |
| One model has it pretty much east of DC. |
NOOOOOO I do not have time for this! |
The boom scenario would be extra disruptive because half the county has the early release on Wednesday. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that. |
| It isn't going to boom. The best chances for that are Baltimore and northeast. If we get an inch or less, everything will likely be on time. If it is more like 2", I could see a two-hour delay on Monday just to allow the crews time to make sure that everything is treated. |
| I say on time on Monday. Custodians were already told yesterday to be ready to clear schools on Sunday. |
| Actually, it’s going to be extremely cold. They might delay for cold. |
| My prediction is on time Monday. |
| Now we have to think through Reid’s eyes. No delay. |
Nooo. Why do the snow storms always split away from northern Virginia? |
| Zero chance - do your homework |
