It’s 8am and only 1 inch. Why would they cancel tomorrow? That’s a day of way. Are you from here? This isn’t even a lot of snow for this area.

Yeah the only way school is closed is because the snow is so little and instead of plowing the roads they let the neighborhoods and schools just melt

They don’t care about that. We live on a side road that is often not plowed and a sheet of ice in significant snow. And yes, there is a bus stop.

This is the neighborhood roads especially the ones deep into a subdivision that dont get significant numbers of cars driving over the snow (to melt it away), but still have bus stops and walkers.

Are you implying that neighborhood roads have cannot have a drop of snow on them in order to be safe enough to drive on a school day? Like right now, if you look out your window, the roads are completely unsafe to drive and will remain so for the next 24 hours because there is not enough to plow nor is there enough sunshine and warmer temps to melt it?

The drama. School will be on time.

I could see a 2 hour delay easily. But definitely not an all out closure. I can still see the tips of grass on our lawn so it really didn’t snow all that much.

Um, where do you people live? We got an inch of snow. The sun is out and the streets are almost dry.

I hope this is sarcasm … you never can tell around here though.

I’m assuming so.

Our street is just crunchy ice right now and won’t get better unless treated since it gets little sun, but there are no weather warnings and while below freezing chill, it’s not bad at all.

Are anyone's roads actually still messy? Even the sidewalks in my neighborhood are completely melted and clean. Sides streets are totally clear as well and cars are going by at normal speeds...

I’m not usually one to call for delays but the roads in McLean are actually bad, with large sections of solid ice. I have AWD and decent tires and slid around a curve.

I am from a part of the country that ices regularly.

Driving around, the side roads and even main roads look they are setting up for black ice tomorrow morning, especially with temps in the teens overnight.

Even though the roads are clear of snow, I could definitely see a 2 hour delay due to black ice.

Just to remind drivers, there is no traction on ice! Don't flip your SUV on icy roads.
