Middlebury ED results?

Important to stay out of trouble and not to do stupid things too. Don’t plagiarize a paper using AI etc.

Midd taking a huge loss on their Monterey campus. But it’s good they are selling it.

Does Middlebury actually own MIIS? Like do they own the buildings and property? I’d imagine property in downtown Monterey is worth a pretty penny.

Add another poster who cares about this outdated LAC.

They have said that they will not make any disposition decisions about the Campus prior to June of 2027. Also given the value of real estate in that area they aren’t going to take a loss.

Yes they do. They purchased the campus from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 2005 when they took over the Monterey Institute. And if they sell it they will probably make quite a bit on the property.

Deferred (so probably no)
Female 4.2 1530 9APs Strong West Coast Private.
Solid leadership, ECs, and volunteering but noting earth shattering.

SLACs are fairly popular at our school especially for high academic athletes.

She is applying widely and has targets that she likes so it will be fine but Middlebury was her favorite.

Sorry to hear that but sounds like your family is taking it in stride.

The above results speak to how arbitrary and impossible to predict the whole process is.

Sorry to hear it. Those are almost exactly my DD's stats who was hoping to ED2 to Middlebury. It sounds really competitive, and the no supplementals and fee waivers is likely making it even more so. Nice job having some solid targets.

Your DD should shoot her shot, noting ventured nothing gained. Good luck to her!

Mine will be fine. She'll apply to a few other NESCACs though they are hard. She has some SLACs in the 20-30 range that she liked as well as a couple of smaller R1s.

I love the attitude, there are so many great schools outside of the small group which gets so much attention here.

Sometimes it's just not meant to be

This is very surprising

This seems like AO error.. these credentials place the applicant in the top quartile .
